Pogrebinsky: Escalation has begun
It is not profitable for the units of the Ukrainian army in the “ATO” to maintain a regime of silence, because during peace they do not pay bonuses, and Arsen Avakov’s nationalists simply carry out the order of their master not to allow a truce.
Political scientist Mikhail Pogrebinsky said this on air on the TV Center channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The escalation has begun. I don’t know who [shoots] first, but there’s no need to talk about a truce now – they shoot every day, and every day people die, both civilians and military personnel.
Here you need to keep one thing in mind. The fact is that maintaining a state of shelling and “non-truce” is beneficial to the huge number of Ukrainian military personnel who are there on the border. Simply because during hostilities they receive increased salaries. They don't get it when there is a truce. Therefore, it is quite difficult to ensure a truce without changing people at all the necessary levels.
During this time, the president certainly did not have the opportunity to change people at all the necessary levels and deal with this “Azov”. “I do not rule out that in relation to Azov this is some kind of order in order to make it clear that Avakov is needed in the chair of the Minister of Internal Affairs, he has influence on them,” the political scientist said.
According to the expert, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky left Arsen Avakov as Minister of Internal Affairs not out of fear. putsch, since Petro Poroshenko does not have the necessary resources for a coup.
“There are two interpretations of this coup story. In my opinion, this is complete nonsense. Poroshenko does not yet have any resources to prepare a coup. The second version is that this is just such an “interesting” girl who can come up with such a thing,” Pogrebinsky summed up.
