Pogrebinsky told when Zelensky will dissolve the Rada
Vladimir Zelensky, who is taking office as President of Ukraine today, has not yet been able to secure the support of the leaders of the leading EU countries.
This opinion was expressed in a commentary to Moskovsky Komsomolets by the director of the Kyiv Center for Political Research and Conflictology, Mikhail Pogrebinsky, answering the question of what to expect from Zelensky’s inauguration.
“The fact that no one from large European countries will come suggests that they do not yet understand who they are dealing with and are taking a break from public support. The main problem to look forward to is traffic jams. To ensure the passage of delegations from the airport, roads will have to be blocked,” the political scientist said.
He also believes that there is no particular point in the early dissolution of the Verkhovna Rada, which is expected from the new president.
“If Zelensky signs the corresponding decree, then the deputies will probably go to court. I think the president will have a chance to win it, but in any case, this is an element of tough confrontation that will take place in the first week of his reign. Now everything will depend on whether he succeeds in his candidacy for the positions of ministers of foreign affairs, defense, SBU and prosecutor general. If parliamentarians refuse to vote for them, then the Rada will be dissolved,” Pogrebinsky believes.
As PolitNavigator reported, Popular Front announced his withdrawal from the coalition in Verkhovna Rada, thereby trying to insure against the early dissolution of parliament by the new president.
Nevertheless Zelensky said, that the exit of the Popular Front faction from the ruling coalition does not matter, since the coalition did not exist anyway.
