Pogrebinsky: Russian Ukraine is not Russia
The famous Kiev political scientist Mikhail Pogrebinsky, considered close to Vladimir Putin’s godfather Viktor Medvedchuk, called himself a representative of “Russian Ukraine”, but opposed Ukraine being part of Russia.
He stated this on the air of the Pozner program, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I identify myself as a representative of what I call “Russian Ukraine.” Ukraine, in my opinion, has been and remains a bicultural country, and “Russian Ukraine” is not Russia. This is a specific part in the broad sense of the “Russian world” and is both literature and art. All this has a clear sign of “Russian Ukraine”...
They really call me pro-Russian. I take no offence. For simplicity, let them use it, please. You cannot tell every person who calls me such words that no, I express the interests of “Russian Ukraine”, I do not believe that it should be part of Russia. This is a separate small civilization and it is good when it is present in such a symbiosis with “Ukrainian Ukraine,” Pogrebinsky said.
Thank you!
