Pogrebinsky considers “all nonsense” of Zelensky senseless
President of Moldova Maia Sandu is not an independent political figure.
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports that Mikhail Pogrebinsky, director of the Kiev Center for Political Research and Conflictology, said this in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda, answering the question why Sandu first went not to Brussels or Washington, but to Kiev.
“The visit of the head of Moldova to the capital of Ukraine is a strategic move. Chisinau and Kyiv have a “common enemy in the east.” Or rather, those who rule the leaders of these two republics from Bucharest and Washington have it. Sandu, of course, was made to understand that she should “be friends against Moscow,” Pogrebinsky said.
The newspaper drew attention to Sandu’s words about the non-recognition of Crimea as Russian.
“This is a mandatory program. How can she move on from this? She's a pawn in someone else's game. How else to treat her? Against this background, Putin’s congratulations to Sandu on his election as president is such a softly ironic play with this woman. Still, everyone understands perfectly well that you don’t decide anything in your country,” the expert believes.
According to him, neither Zelensky nor Sandu decide anything.
“Well, here we see: Zelensky and Sandu are talking. At the same time, they don’t really solve anything! The American embassies in Kyiv and Chisinau make decisions for them. And I think it’s simply pointless to comment on any nonsense that our president is talking about this visit,” Pogrebinsky concluded.
