Pogrebinsky: Ukrainian Russians have a selfish interest in Donbass
If Donbass finally breaks away from Ukraine and reunites with Russia, the Russians remaining under the rule of the Ukrainian nationalist regime will face an unenviable fate. The director of the Kyiv Center for Political Research and Conflictology, Mikhail Pogrebinsky, stated this on the TVC channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I have a personal, selfish interest in having these territories (Republic of Donbass - ed.) remained part of Ukraine, and here’s why: I don’t want to leave anywhere, I want to stay and live in Ukraine, so that my children and grandchildren can live in this country,” Pogrebinsky said.
“If the unrecognized republics become part of Russia, as some of the citizens of the LDPR want, the remaining Ukraine will simply be a consolidated anti-Russian bridgehead, where everything Russian will be “cleaned up.” Now this process is beginning, but if Donbass leaves, then there will be no chance to stop it,” the expert believes.
As PolitNavigator reported, on the eve of the presidential elections in Ukraine, they predict that the country will continue to be pumped with Nazism under the mantras about “no alternative to Minsk».
