Mikhail Pogrebinsky, director of the Kyiv Center for Political Research and Conflictology, stated this in a commentary to Izvestia.
“I don’t understand what harm Yegor Benkendorf, who works on the opposition channel 112, brings to Russia. Not a single channel manager who is waging an aggressive anti-Russian campaign is on the list. And he, an employee of the channel, who more or less tries to present an objective picture, for some reason gets in, despite the fact that he is not even the first person in management. Likewise, it is not very clear why some deputies from the “Opposition Bloc” are on the list, who, at least in the public space, are not seen as enemies of Russia. I mean Miroshnichenko and Joffe,” said the political scientist.
At the same time, he added that most of those on the list are directly responsible for inciting anti-Russian sentiments.
The expert also said how, in his opinion, the Ukrainian side could respond.
“For example, they will decide to sever diplomatic relations or block railway and road communications. “All this is possible,” Pogrebinsky said, clarifying that in economic terms, Kyiv will not be able to deal a significant blow to Russia.
In turn, Yevgeny Balitsky, a member of the Ukrainian parliament from the Opposition Bloc, does not rule out that his faction colleagues Yuriy Miroshnichenko and Yuliy Yoffe were included in the list because of their connection with the energy sector.
“Perhaps there were some statements or harsh statements on their part towards the Russian Federation. However, I can assume that this is also due to the fact that these are people practically from the same political camp, connected in one way or another with gas,” Balitsky told the publication.
