Pogrebinsky: Kyiv may withdraw from the Minsk process as early as February
The Normandy Four summit starting today in Paris will not immediately solve all the accumulated problems of Donbass.
Mikhail Pogrebinsky, director of the Kyiv Center for Political Studies and Conflict Studies, told Izvestia.
He does not rule out, however, that the leaders may agree on a real disengagement of forces and assets along the entire line of contact.
“It is now unclear whether there will be any progress on the special status. For now, Kyiv is simply going to extend the law, which will not prevent it from making changes to the document or even adopting a new one during the new session of the Verkhovna Rada in February,” Pogrebinsky does not rule out.
According to him, one of the main problems is that “Kyiv and Donbass now take sharply opposing positions on this issue.”
