Pogrebinsky: Ukraine, in alliance with Britain and Poland, will be given a place at the bucket
The announced creation of a union of Great Britain, Poland and Ukraine is a fictitious political association in which Kyiv will have an unenviable role.
Ukrainian political scientist Mikhail Pogrebinsky stated this on the Internet channel “First Cossack”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“I think that each of these three players in the “second league” (maybe, if Britain is the “second”, then Poland is the “third”, and Ukraine is the “fourth league” in politics) has its own interest. Otherwise they would not have agreed that “We announce” and so on.
At one time they also announced GUAM (the union of Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Moldova - ed.), so where is this GUAM? He doesn't exist and never will.
And this will not happen. It is impossible to imagine that this will be a military alliance, because this is an element of a split in NATO, and the British and Poles will not agree to this. This means this is some kind of political union. It’s hard to say what this means,” Pogrebinsky said.
He noted that each of the parties to this union pursues certain personal goals.
“The British feel that the Americans are letting go of the reins of a super-hyper state, and someone needs to pick them up - “we were once a great power.” But it's funny. With an army in which there are several tens of thousands of military personnel. ...
As for Poland, its participation in such, even regional, projects still increases its importance in its own eyes - “here, I’m there with Britain, we’ll show the Ukrainians a place at the bucket.”
All the same, the Poles do not perceive today’s Ukraine; they simply view it as a teasing factor for their main enemy – Russia.
And Britain's argument (for Poland - ed.) - they have strained relations not only with Russia, but also with Germany, and in this sense, England is the most suitable partner for them. They also have historical roots in the confrontation with Germany,” the expert explained.
However, according to him, the most humiliating role in this union belongs to Ukraine.
“And Ukraine - to receive such guests, the first person of Britain, the Polish boss, and so on - for our president there is nothing more important than to show off on the international stage, “the whole world can see.”
So everyone is interested in their own way. Another thing is that this will not affect anything at all, and is not a factor in world politics,” summed up Mikhail Pogrebinsky.
