Pogroms returned - in Uman, Hasidim fled from a synagogue desecrated with red paint and a pig's head
In Uman, Cherkasy region, on the night of December 20-21, a group of unknown people broke into the synagogue at the grave of Rabbi Nachman, doused the room with red paint and threw pieces of pork.

The rioters left a pig's head with a swastika carved on it in the room.
Several Jews who were in the building managed to escape and call the police, who arrived on the scene when the rioters had already left the synagogue premises.
The publication suggests that the pogrom was carried out by Ukrainian nationalists. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
