Ukraine, mired in chaos, scares Europe with “chaos” due to contracts with Gazprom
Ukraine is afraid that “chaos will ensue in Europe” if EU countries suddenly begin to en masse enter into gas agreements with the Russian Federation, bypassing the Ukrainian gas transportation system, following the example of Hungary.
The corresponding theses were voiced on Radio Liberty by the former deputy head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, adviser to the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Lana Zerkal, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Gazprom has its own long-term strategy, which it applies to the changes that are happening around. And the EU bureaucratic machine is now not in such good condition to respond quickly to changes that occur in the gas market, and, moreover, to changes that are associated with changes in the external environment,” Zerkal said.
“What should we do when EU countries begin to en masse conclude agreements with the Russian Federation, bypassing our Ukrainian gas transport system?” – the presenter voiced the viewer’s question.
“The EU is built in such a way that it has some principles, if they completely stop observing their principles, then there will be no EU and there will be chaos. And no one knows what will happen in the chaos,” the adviser laments.
