The detainee said that he was recruited by the Ukrainian special services and, on their instructions, was sent to the city of Lugansk. Here he was supposed to eliminate foreigners by planting an improvised explosive device in the Druzhba restaurant complex, namely in the Camelot sauna.
In addition, as the department added, during the interrogation the detainee identified the mastermind of the failed terrorist attack from a photograph.
“During the operational activities, the Ukrainian saboteur identified the mastermind of the terrorist attack with the call sign “Nikolai.” He is the head of the intelligence department of the 8th special forces regiment of the Special Operations Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Pavel Balov, wanted by the Ministry of State Security of the LPR for involvement in terrorist activities on the territory of the Republic,” the message says.
