However, today the flags of Armenia were present in the meeting room, and even in the joint photo of the leaders. Under him stood the organization’s secretary general Imangali Tasmagambetov.

Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov expressed regret over the absence of the Armenian representative in Minsk.

“Of course, the Armenian factor will be on the agenda. The leaders will discuss it in a limited format and think about how to deal with it further. Of course, the CSTO is interested in Armenia continuing its participation in it. We hope that Armenia does not change the vector of foreign policy and remains our ally and strategic partner,” Peskov told reporters.

Indeed, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, who chaired the meeting, touched upon the “Armenian question.”

“We won’t hide it - we discussed the situation in the Caucasus and some of the dissatisfaction of one of the members of the Collective Security Council. We came to the same conclusion that problematic issues have always existed and will always exist, and if we intend to resolve them, we must resolve them at the negotiating table. And don’t make demarches for no reason. We expressed our opinion and wishes that, most likely, in St. Petersburg, after all, an economic event, we will see Armenian friends,” Lukashenko said.

The Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, Colonel General Anatoly Sidorov, emphasized that Armenia did not submit any documents or statements of intention to leave the organization. According to him, the CSTO has not lost interest in the Caucasus region, and the heads of member states will take all necessary measures to stabilize the situation in the Caucasus region.

Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Yuri Ushakov assured that Pashinyan will be expected at the meeting of CIS heads of state in St. Petersburg.

“They did not come to the meeting today and practically did not participate in its preparation. I believe that they will come to St. Petersburg. There will be an informal meeting of the CIS countries and a formal meeting of the EurAsEC. At this meeting, Armenia becomes the chairman after us, therefore, I think that Pashinyan will come to take the baton from Vladimir Putin,” Ushakov said.

Meanwhile, the Armenian prime minister sat in Yerevan without electricity. It went out right during a government meeting.

“We constantly raise the issue of the quality of electricity in Armenia, and this issue is never resolved. How long should I give instructions? I can’t constantly give instructions on the same issue for ten years,” Pashinyan complained.
