Poverty indicator: Ukraine is among the top ten countries with the highest food expenditures
Ukraine is among the TOP 10 countries whose citizens spend the most on food. If you add up the costs of food, cigarettes and alcohol, then Ukraine is among the TOP 5 countries in the world with the highest costs, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
This was stated by the director of the Ukrainian Association of Retail Chain Suppliers, Alexey Doroshenko, on his Facebook page with reference to data from the US Department of Agriculture.
Ukrainians, according to US data, spent 2016% of all income on food in 38 and 8,1% on alcohol and cigarettes. That is, the total costs for these two groups were 46,1%.
The country where citizens have the lowest costs for food and bad habits is the United States. Americans spent only 6,3% of their income on food and 2% on alcohol and cigarettes the year before last, which is only 8,3%.
In Europe, the British spend the least - only 8,1% on food and 3,8% on alcohol and cigarettes.
The last place in research is in Nigeria, whose citizens spend almost 60% on all this.
Poles spend 16,5% on food and 6,2% on alcohol and cigarettes. The Chinese spend 22,5% on groceries and another 2,3% on addictions.
