"Exemplary beating." Kyiv media calls for reprisals against Rabinovich
The SBU is studying the publication by Verkhovna Rada deputy Vadim Rabinovich on his blog of a map on which Crimea is not indicated as Ukrainian.
This, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, is discussed in the intelligence service’s response to a corresponding request from the Kyiv online publication Apostrophe.
“Now this situation is being studied and analyzed by the relevant units of the SBU. We will inform you additionally based on the results,” responded the head of the SBU press service, Artem Dekhtyarenko.
The publication also asked lawyers whether it was realistic to bring Rabinovich to criminal liability.
“Several years ago, a couple of bloggers were imprisoned in Ukraine for distributing laudatory posts about the Russian World and other content on VKontakte public pages, which the prosecution characterized as anti-Ukrainian. That is, a lot depends on the work of the lawyers and how the investigators take on the case. I think that a case will be opened against Rabinovich, but whether it will end in something significant - I don’t presume to judge,” said lawyer Arkady Nesterenko.
At the same time, the authors of the publication call for open reprisal against the deputy.
“However, Rabinovich’s overt separatist habits provide an excellent excuse for Bankova to organize another demonstrative “beating” – this time of Rabinovich. In what format? In addition to the SBU, we should not forget about another favorite instrument of Zelensky – the National Security and Defense Council. In any case, Rabinovich’s “case” can only benefit the current president,” Kyiv journalists believe.
