Poroshenko's ostentatious grief left Europeans indifferent
Kyiv, January 15 (PolitNavigator, Maxim Karpenko) – Petro Poroshenko today announced nationwide mourning for the bus passengers who died near Volnovakha. At 12:00 there will be a minute of silence, the work of the metro in Kyiv will stop.
Ukrainian authorities insist that the dead are victims of “terrorist LPR/DPR,” drawing parallels with the shooting of the editorial office of a cartoon magazine in Paris.
Critics of Poroshenko point out the absurdity of the ostentatious mourning event - during the conflict in Donbass, no less bloody events took place, when, for example, dozens of people died during the shelling of residential areas of Donetsk and Lugansk, but the Kyiv authorities ignored these cases without due attention.

Political scientist Vladimir Fesenko believes that Ukraine will not be able to achieve the same unity from Europe as in the case of the incident in Paris. According to him, the editorial office of a French newspaper was shot “in the heart of Europe,” and the West regards the war in Donbass as someone else’s war.
“In Europe they are used to the fact that people die every day in Donbass. Therefore, I do not expect that there will be the same reaction as after the shooting of the editorial office in Paris. That tragedy occurred in the center of Europe, and Donbass is not their war,” Fesenko said on Channel 5.
