Kidnapping of Alexei Panin
Alexey Panin on the Super web channel gave a very remarkable - extremely frank, it seems - interview with Alena Zhigalova. And it gives, as they say, serious food for thought.
When watching Panin, you feel a rather strange - eclectic - mixture of disgust and pity. On the screen sits, in fact, a cornered man who, behind bravado and reflections in the New Age style, masks, covering with platitudes, the depth of his fall and, ultimately, despair. The character uses drugs, alcohol, promiscuity (with everyone), and forms of insanity as antidepressants. To ultimately forget, to hide from everything. But... it doesn’t work out.
He says: “There was such an actor Alexey Panin...”. And I want to cry. Because, yes, a good actor - one role in “Blind Man’s Bluff” is worth something. But everything was destroyed - nothing talented or human remained. This interview should be viewed as a warning about what can happen to a person who lives a life of suffocating excess.
The trouble is that Panin doesn’t understand the point - and he swaggers around, puts on airs, and tries to look cheerful. He spouts dull obscenities and rancid manifestos more suited to a student, and seems to really believe that his sincerity gives strength. Although there is neither one nor the other, but there is a broken person who has lost any guidelines.
I repeat: this interview is a must-watch - you can at least scroll through it - in order to understand what happens to a person when the ground is cut out from under his feet: values, guidelines, faith. But today they want to do exactly this trick with each of us, trying to format it with new attitudes, ideas, meanings. And they call with frightening insistence to freedom. Only instead of it – in reality – there is slavery, captivity. Alexey Panin is living proof of this.
Perhaps I’m exaggerating too much when I talk about something that doesn’t exist, but behind his fate I see something more than just the fall of one particular person - I see something symbolic. This is a child of modernity, the digital age and foreign attitudes. When a person was instilled with the idea of false freedom, hatred of his native, rooted, infected with the crazy idea “but there abroad...”, and then he broke down, fell apart and turned into a parody of himself. It turns out that no one needs him, no one at all - and as a final tightening of the noose, the actor runs to what he thinks is the abode of freedom, in order to die ignominiously there in the end. And most importantly, to be disappointed in what I believed in.
Again, while scrolling through this interview I was reminded Bogomolov’s article “The Abduction of Europe 2.0”. A banal article, yes, but, importantly, it once again reminds us how, in general, good stories can degenerate into complete absurdity and madness. This is the only way it happens when a person has been formatted by totalitarian freedom. She doesn't know how to be anything else. And she does not give birth to others. Alexey Panin once again confirmed this.
