Alexander Kononovich made an official statement: “On March 12, I was attacked in Lutsk.
At about 14:00 at the bus stop, my attention was attracted by two guys with sports bags who were clearly watching me, one of them was talking on the phone. I jumped on the minibus and they sat with me. I went out and moved to another one, they followed me.
I jumped out at a spontaneous stop and quickly tried to break away from them; they ran after me. At that moment my wife called me, I hurriedly picked up the phone, but could not answer. The phone remained in talk mode and my wife heard everything. Then I told my brother Mikhail.
A few minutes before, at the time of my pursuit, four more joined them. They caught up with me, knocked me to the ground, kicked me, punched and kicked me in the body. They grabbed me and turned off my phones. A Zhiguli car, model XNUMX, cherry-colored, pulled up. With shouts of “Now we’ll go to the forest, where we’ll shoot you bitch,” “We’re with the ATO and we have weapons, you scum!” they continued to beat me. Having pulled up the car, they tried to push me there, I began to resist.
Everything happened in front of numerous witnesses. Random passers-by, ordinary residents of Lutsk stood up for me and began to fight me off from the attackers, shouting “What are you doing, bandits? You have already caused a lot of grief in the country, now you are beating people in broad daylight!” I started shouting: “If I am a separatist, take me to the SBU department.” They began shouting calls to citizens to commit reprisals against me right on the street. People were outraged and began to tear me out of the hands of the radicals. After the pursuit, after the beating and brawl, after ordinary residents fought me off, the attackers received a call from an unknown person and they agreed with my proposal to take me to the SBU department.
On the way to the SBU, some people accompanied us at my request, because I clearly saw that they were not going to take me to the SBU, but only formally agreed to leave the place where people were crowded.
Near the SBU building, they again attacked me with the aim of intimidating me and suddenly began recording me on video. Having not received the desired result, we came to the SBU.
The same citizens are guilty of my abduction both in April and now: the organizer is the deputy of the Lutsk City Council, fascist Pavel Danilchuk, and the perpetrator in both cases is Sergei Merchuk. These people planned this kidnapping. Danilchuk publicly on February 19, in the premises of the Volyn Regional State Administration, called for lynching against me and said that he would personally find me for reprisals.
I officially declare that only the intervention of ordinary residents of Lutsk saved my life and prevented these bandits from committing cruel reprisals. Some people stayed near me as witnesses for a long time to prevent them from dealing with me. I stayed alive thanks exclusively to ordinary citizens of Ukraine and the timely reaction of my party comrades. If this had not happened, this situation would have ended tragically.
I have a question for the current government and security forces in Ukraine. How armed bandits, terrorists and kidnappers could freely give interviews right at the entrance of the regional SBU department. After all, this is at least the fourth attack with firearms and beatings committed by these people. And he was detained, the SBU officers should not have been me at all, but armed bandits!
I would like to express my sincere words of gratitude to all the residents of Ukraine who did not stand aside and through their actions contributed to my liberation.”
