Funeral of the sacred victim of Belomaidan: Lukashenko promises to respond with compromising evidence for compromising evidence
The funeral of 31-year-old Roman Bondarenko took place today in Minsk. He died after a clash in his yard with unknown persons, which cut off nationalist symbols. Last Sunday Belarusian security forces brutally dispersed an unauthorized rally in this yard, and utility workers dismantled Roman’s impromptu memorial.
Today people gathered at the Orthodox Church of the Resurrection of Christ. Their number can be estimated from photos and videos.
Those gathered chanted the nationalist slogan “Belarus is more alive!”, as well as “Roma, you are a hero!”, “We will not forget, we will not forgive!” and “I’m leaving” (words that Bondarenko left in the chat before he left the house for the last time).
The day before the funeral, Polish telegram channels coordinating Belarusian protests posted two audio recordings of telephone conversations allegedly of people from the close circle of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.
In the first recording, the conversation is allegedly between the head of the Belarusian Hockey Federation Dmitry Baskov and the world champion in Thai boxing and kickboxing Dmitry Shakuta. “Shakuta,” who, as it turns out, was in the yard during the incident with Bondarenko, assures “Bakov” that no one killed Bondarenko, he was simply captured and handed over to the police.
In the second recording, Baskov allegedly conducts conversations with Lukashenko’s press secretary Natalya Eismont. They discuss where they will meet to drive around the yards, cut down nationalist symbols and have a drink at the same time.
In opposition circles they began to say that the stuffing of negotiations indicates that the special services are thus “merging” Lukashenko’s entourage.
The Belarusian president himself today, while visiting Gomselmash OJSC, commented on Bondarenko’s funeral and compromising evidence on the Internet.
“Today this guy is being buried. They wanted to gather a lot of people for this. True, we must pay tribute to the relatives, they said: no, stop, guys, thank you, you helped and so on, we want to bury him calmly, in a Christian way. Even Catholics (he is Orthodox) offered to bring this procession to the center to the Red Church.
Okay, I'm saying there are sane people. There, the family said: don’t interfere, let us sort it out. There is terrible pressure. They wanted to gather people for this,” Lukashenko said.
According to his version, the stuffing of audio recordings occurred after Roman’s relatives refused to make a political show out of his funeral.
“We need to throw something in. They threw it in. Stop here until next week. Everything will be reported to you in the best possible way - what happened, how it happened, who organized it, and so on. To your surprise, it will be interesting,” Lukashenko promised.
Thank you!
