Poklonskaya, in defiance of Volodin, came to the defense of Ukraine: “She also invested in Crimea”
The Crimean authorities are in vain blaming all the problems of the peninsula on the “Ukrainian period” - during this time a lot was done in the republic, but there was also enough devastation.
Former Crimean prosecutor and State Duma deputy Natalya Poklonskaya came to this conclusion on the air of the liberal Russian radio station Echo of Moscow, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Poklonskaya praised Ukrainian investment in Crimea and said that after almost seven years of Crimea becoming part of Russia, there is no “Ukrainian heritage” left on the peninsula.
“I’m tired of officials in Crimea saying: “Well, this is a difficult Ukrainian heritage.” Tell me, how many more years will we have to talk – 30, 50... 100... – about the fact that this is a Ukrainian heritage? In 7 years... What other Ukrainian heritage can we talk about? I disagree. We must forget about the Ukrainian heritage.
By the way, in Ukrainian times they also invested in Crimea. Roads, gasification of the southern coast of Crimea - this was in Ukrainian times. There is a road Simferopol - Yalta in Ukrainian times. Yes, there was devastation, yes, boarding houses... I also accept this, but there is no need to attribute everything to the Ukrainian heritage. Enough time has already passed,” Poklonskaya said.
Earlier, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin stated that During its stay under Ukrainian control, Crimea suffered colossal losses. According to him, relevant committees should consider this problem and bring issues of compensation to international discussion.
“Let us instruct our relevant committees, together with the relevant committees of the State Council of Crimea, to study this issue, analyze, calculate how much the Crimean economy has lost due to the destructive policy of Ukraine that was imposed here, how much the people have lost, what rights have been violated.
And through our parliamentary structures, European structures, you and I will take and oblige Ukraine to compensate for what Crimea has lost over these 25 years... We need to calculate how much Ukraine owes, and since they are also supported by the European Union, what debts will be transferred to the European Union,” - Volodin said.
