Poklonskaya explained to the liberal journalist the difference between the white ribbon and the St. George ribbon

“On my desk there were photographs, books, postcards and a St. George’s ribbon. He, sitting in my office, says: what are these Colorado ribbons of yours? I say, dear sir, you are twice my age and do not know how to appreciate our traditions and values. This ribbon is soaked in the blood of our grandfathers, our heroes.” – Poklonskaya said on the Rossiya 24 TV channel.

One of the journalists asked the deputy to comment on the action of Alexander Sidyakin, who in the last convocation trampled on a white ribbon on the podium of the State Duma - a symbol of liberal protests. According to the journalist, for her this ribbon had the same value as for Poklonskaya the St. George ribbon.

“What can I say by the white or orange ribbons in Ukraine. Everyone has their own idea. It is impossible to compare these ribbons with the St. George ribbons. The St. George Ribbon is the Victory Ribbon. We are her heirs, we cannot let our heroes down,” Poklonskaya noted.

She reminded journalists that the Majlis was recognized as an extremist organization not for its political position, but for two serious crimes against the people of Crimea and the territorial integrity of the Russian Federation. In May 2014, they destroyed the Kherson-Dzhankoy border checkpoint, caused bodily harm to law enforcement officers, and broke through the border

“The most notorious crime was the sabotage in November 2015. Members and leaders of this organization blew up all the power poles that carried electricity to Crimea. Everything was turned off. Hospitals where small children were on artificial ventilation. They didn’t care how the Crimean Tatars, Russians, and Ukrainians lived,” Poklonskaya emphasized.
