Poklonskaya declared herself Ukrainian and rose in defense of Halloween
Former prosecutor of Crimea, State Duma deputy Natalya Poklonskaya called herself a native Ukrainian and called for defending the right to celebrate Halloween.
She wrote about this on her blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Poklonskaya called for reporting to her about all cases of pressure on schoolchildren and attempts to ban the celebration of this day in Russia, recalling the initiative of her parliamentary colleague Vitaly Milonov, who opened a “hotline” to counter Halloween.
“The mysterious Halloween is approaching, which means Vitaly Milonov is again declaring war on this English holiday that is attractive to young people. On the eve of All Saints' Day this year, a colleague even opened a hotline to combat the holiday.
I, as a native Ukrainian, cannot share my colleague Milonov’s wary attitude towards watermelons (pumpkins).
In my opinion, our youth are able to independently determine which holidays to celebrate and on what occasion to have fun. For my part, I invite teachers and parents to inform me of all cases of pressure on schools in this matter,” Poklonskaya wrote.
At the same time, she attached to this post a photograph of herself wearing a Ukrainian embroidered shirt.
Let us recall that on the eve of Milonov, who, together with Poklonskaya, is a member of the parliamentary faction of United Russia, asked the Prosecutor General of Russia Yuri Chaika to check state enterprises, schools and universities in Russia in order to prevent them from promoting the celebration of Halloween.
