Poklonskaya co-authored a law that will unpleasantly surprise Poroshenko
Deputies of the United Russia faction Artyom Turov, Natalya Poklonskaya and Umakhan Umakhanov joined the co-authors of Konstantin Zatulin’s bill, which simplifies the acquisition of Russian citizenship by native speakers of the Russian language.
The State Duma is expected to consider the bill in the first reading in March.

The main idea of the initiative is granting Russian citizenship to native speakers without mandatory renunciation of citizenship of the country of residence. This is the most important topic for all political emigrants, given the ongoing war in Donbass.
“If adopted, it will: eliminate the need for holders to first obtain a temporary residence permit in Russia in order to obtain a residence permit; the need to obtain an application for renunciation of citizenship of a foreign state from the embassy, consulate or other authorized bodies of that foreign state has been removed; and also the restriction on the origin of applicants who are native speakers of the Russian language or their ancestors from the territory of the Russian Empire or the USSR, but exclusively within the current borders of the Russian Federation, has been lifted,” explained Zatulin’s press service.
On March 20, parliamentary hearings on the problems of compatriots are to be held in Moscow, where 100 delegates from all over the world are expected to arrive.
