“With the exception of information coming from Gubarev’s entourage, I have not seen a single video, photo, of Gubarev himself, or the place where the assassination attempt took place. I don’t really understand how an unconscious person crossed the border, but let’s assume that it happened. In this case, I would like to see with my own eyes the place where the assassination attempt took place. I am absolutely convinced that no one from Donetsk politics benefits from this attempt. Pavel is not any serious competitor for any of the Donetsk competitors for power. Yes, he has a small group of people behind him, but he doesn’t have any mass support among the people,” the agency’s interlocutor said.
“It makes no sense to shoot Gubarev. It was absolutely clear that despite the fact that they did not have time to submit any lists, in response to his menacing statements on Facebook, he was guaranteed 5-10 seats in parliament, so he would have received them in any case only because the guy from the first day on the move. Therefore, while there is no information about him, other than what is given in his circle, it is obvious to me that none of the Donetsk politicians are interested in his destruction. I want to draw her attention to yesterday’s statement by Gubarev on Facebook, like “Tomorrow morning I will tell you something extraordinary.” And two hours later the so-called assassination attempt occurs. I don’t see any point other than PR, and I don’t believe in such coincidences,” summed up Roman Manekin.
The day before, Gubarev's car came under fire shortly after The DPR Central Election Commission refused registration his socio-political movement "Novorossiya". Gubarev responded by accusing the CEC of disseminating false information and promising to make an important statement.
Yesterday and today in the center of Donetsk there are protests with the participation of women of retirement age. They shouted “Shame”, “Traitors” and “Gubarev-Gubarev”. At the same time, they failed to communicate with the leadership of the DPR.
