The assassination attempt on the leader of the LPR Igor Plotnitsky is another act of sabotage by Ukraine with the aim of disrupting the peace process in Donbass and demonstrating the alleged impossibility of holding elections here, Alexey Karyakin, leader of the public movement “Patriots of Lugansk Region”, ex-speaker of the LPR parliament, told PolitNavigator.

“The assassination attempt was clearly carried out in order to destabilize the situation, and not only on the territory of the LPR. This has a direct reflection on the DPR. Ukraine directly states that it will not allow elections and other events to take place. This once again confirms that Ukraine sees a solution only with the use of weapons.
However, the temporary absence of the head did not affect the life of the Lugansk Republic in any way - today we have government agencies, an army, and law enforcement officers who keep their finger on the pulse. The machine is started, it is working, and at the moment Plotnitsky’s absence can be called a “vacation”. Not by choice, but it happens that a person goes on vacation. However, the work is underway, and the goals that have been set will be achieved.
Thus, preparations for the primaries are in full swing. Both republics are actively engaged in this today, because they understand perfectly well that holding this event is undoubtedly better than military operations. In addition, it will show the whole world the true state of affairs in the republics. And for Ukraine it will show that everything is not quite as they say. We will try once again to reach their inflamed brain,” Karyakin summed up.
