Attempt on the life of a Ukrainian minister: For the first time there was no Russian trace
An attempt on the life of Minister of Agrarian Policy Roman Leshchenko was prevented in Ukraine. Moreover, for the first time in recent years, law enforcement officials did not announce that they had immediately taken the “Russian trail.” On the contrary, a US citizen was among the accused.
The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denis Monastyrsky spoke about the circumstances of the case at a special briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The official said that the police prevented a contract killing. The customers are a citizen of Ukraine and an American. The reason was allegedly due to old debts dating back to 2018, when the current head of the Ministry of Agrarian and Industrial Complex Leshchenko was a simple agrarian.
Citizens offended by the debtor handed over a deposit for the murder in the amount of 20 thousand dollars. At the same time, by the time the minister was liquidated, the US citizen planned to be in his homeland, but he was detained by law enforcement officers who notified the embassy.
Leshchenko himself learned about the assassination attempt immediately before the briefing.
“Of course, this situation is shocking for me,” Leshchenko admitted.
His speech was confusing, but one can understand that he himself connects the failed assassination attempt with some kind of conflict over land. The regime of Vladimir Zelensky, as is known, allowed the sale of black soil soils to please Western corporations.
“All materials, all data about Ukrainian land, all backup copies of the state land cadastre, all this is in the law enforcement agencies, and by eliminating, scaring, you will not achieve anything,” Leshenko said.
Kiev observer Igor Lesev sarcastically notes that the story of the failed murder of the minister fits well with the roguish image of Vladimir Zelensky’s fellow party members.
“Good people say that before becoming a minister, someone there was really scammed.” In general, a typical story for any “servant”. It’s impossible to get there without a funny story with a closet full of skeletons and shit. He definitely has to cheat someone on lava, or rape someone, or at least steal four bottles of beer from a grocery store. At worst, be a drug addict,” Lesev comments on his blog.
“From the reports about the briefing of the Minister of Internal Affairs, I understand that one American first believed in our investment climate, and then stopped believing,” Verkhovna Rada deputy Maxim Buzhansky sneers in his Telegram channel.
