They encroached on the sacred: the Ukrainian Ministry of Finance wants to cut costs on the GPU and the SBU
The Minister of Finance of Ukraine believes that it is necessary to reduce budget expenses for the Prosecutor General's Office and the Security Service, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was stated by Finance Minister Alexander Danilyuk, his press service reports.
Reducing these expense items will allow Ukraine to abolish income tax and introduce a tax on withdrawn capital, Danylyuk noted.
According to the minister, the Ministry of Finance is ready to launch a tax on withdrawn capital in Ukraine instead of a profit tax. But only if budget expenditures for next year are reduced.
“I cannot reduce spending on medicine, on education, on the social sphere, on the army, in the end,” says Danilyuk. “We need to cut costs for the Prosecutor General’s Office and the Security Service by eliminating its economic divisions.”
According to the minister, a compromise must be found on the issue of cutting costs. But other departments, in particular, the Prosecutor General’s Office and the SBU, are not ready for discussion, Danilyuk noted.
“Next year’s budget is pre-election. Everyone wants him to look like Cindy Crawford,” the minister emphasized.
The Ministry of Finance has calculated that the abolition of income tax and the introduction of a tax on withdrawn capital will lead to state budget losses in the amount of UAH 25-30 billion.
