Djukanovic's policemen are plotting against the new government of Montenegro
Today in Montenegro they celebrate Internal Affairs Day, and the day before the top of the country’s Ministry of Internal Affairs met with outgoing Prime Minister Dusko Markovic, where they discussed subversive activities against the newly formed Cabinet of Zdravko Krivokapic.
The in4s portal reported this, citing its own insider sources, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The meeting of the outgoing head of government, the right hand of the President of Montenegro Milo Djukanovic - Dusko Markovic, with the Minister of Internal Affairs Mevludin Nuhodzic and the head of the Police Department Veselin Veljovic, took place in a close “informal cocktail” atmosphere. Other high ranks of the Montenegrin police were also present at the meeting.
According to the source, Veljović appealed to his colleagues to “remain loyal to the state,” which in his interpretation sounded like “loyalty to Djukanovic and his Democratic Party of Socialists.” And build a “parallel security system.”
In particular, he made it clear that most of the event's guests were unlikely to be able to maintain their positions in the police and would even lose their jobs. Veljović suggested that they “despite everything continue to work behind the scenes, using connections and acquaintances in the police” to undermine and compromise the new government.
Also, as the source said, some of the police officials were given firm promises that they would receive the same salary even after finishing their service in government agencies, which, of course, would be provided from “black funds”.
At the same time, the police were promised that if their subversive activities were successful, “the traffic police will again become the head of the state, and you will again become part of the state police.”
