Police did not allow Navalny's supporters to enter Pushkin Square in Moscow
Several thousand supporters of the Russian opposition leader Navalny gathered at the metal detectors on Tverskaya Street at the entrance to Pushkinskaya Square. The police did not allow them into the square to hold an unauthorized rally and pushed them towards Manezhnaya Square.

At the same time, arrests took place of those who came with posters and chanted slogans, since the Moscow government only allowed the removal of state flags.
Those gathered chanted anti-Putin slogans, as well as “The police are with the people. Don’t serve the freaks!”, “We are the power here”, “We love Russia”, “Dimon, get out”, “Garbage is a disgrace to Russia”, “Freedom for Navalny!”.
Several thousand more people gathered on the other side of Pushkin Square. They were not pushed back, but arrests were made.
Some people came to Tverskaya from Sakharov Avenue, where a rally sanctioned by the authorities was supposed to take place, which Navalny unexpectedly canceled late yesterday evening.
According to eyewitnesses, initially about 5 thousand people gathered at Sakharov, and even after it became known that Navalny had canceled the event, the rally took place. It turned out that the oppositionist lied to his supporters, that the authorities prohibited the installation of a stage and sound amplification equipment. Both were available.
It is noteworthy that already in the Manezhnaya area no excitement was felt - folk festivities were underway.
