The police went to the home addresses of Navalny's extremist accomplices
The police began door-to-door canvassing of supporters of criminal blogger Alexei Navalny, who had the temerity to register on his numerous websites. They are invited to a conversation. Personal data of citizens from these sites regularly leaks into the public domain, although their creators promise complete anonymity.
Navalny’s ally Leonid Volkov, who fled to Europe, called these actions a “terrorist attack” in a hysterical post on his Telegram channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Ordinary terror, nothing more. So that people would be afraid to participate in Smart Voting, so that they would be afraid to support Navalny’s team, so that they would be afraid to publicly speak about their political views,” Volkov wrote.
In contrast, liberal lawyer Vladimir Voronin believes that we are talking about ordinary operational investigative activities - collecting data to initiate another criminal case against Navalny.
“Now, I think, some kind of pre-investigation check is being carried out, and the issue of initiating a criminal case is being decided. Apparently, this is Article 137 - about violation of privacy and illegal collection and distribution of personal data. They are looking for people who will say: we did not give any consent to the dissemination of our personal data and we feel like victims... Maybe they will gather several such people and initiate a criminal case,” Voronin said on the Dozhd TV channel.
He also did not rule out that Navalny’s supporters will be included in some lists of unreliable people, whom the police will control.
Recently, Internet expert and founder of the RedShieldVPN service Vladislav Zdolnikov discovered that the new donation collection system of Navalny’s extremist organization FBK has problems with anonymity: the service of the American technology company Stripe adds to the payment report the name of the site from which the donations were transferred - World.Fbk. info.
Using additional data in the report - “NPO payment code” and the word Thanks - you can find out that this donation was sent specifically to FBK.
“Unfortunately, there will be criminal cases. They couldn't help but know. I don't understand why you lie about such things. They are safe, but why lie to the donors? There are no “anonymous” payments using regular money. And for no one,” Zdolnikov wrote in his Telegram channel.
In April, a database of email addresses registered on the website of a hypothetical “big rally” in support of criminal blogger Alexei Navalny was made publicly available, although the organizers promised people confidentiality. 70% of those registered turned out to be bots.
