The police stopped the activities of a Sevastopol official who stole over 45 million rubles from the city budget
Employees of the Economic Security and Internal Affairs Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Sevastopol received information that the head of the Capital Construction Department is engaged in fraud when concluding government contracts.

The police, together with FSB officers, conducted an investigation, and the information was confirmed.
During the inspection, it was established that the official entered into a criminal conspiracy with employees of the State Institution “Management for the Operation of Municipal Facilities” under his subordination, with the aim of stealing budget funds when concluding government contracts. Conditions were created under which a state contract was concluded between the State Institution “Management for the Operation of Municipal Facilities” and one of the companies for work on major repairs of the water pipeline. The State Public Institution “Management for the Operation of Municipal Facilities” transferred funds to the account of the construction company, and the customer was presented with an acceptance certificate containing false information in which the cost of the work performed was inflated.
As a result of the criminal actions of the official and his accomplices, funds totaling over 45 million rubles were stolen from the budget of Sevastopol.
Currently, the investigative department of the Investigative Committee for Sevastopol has charged the former head of the Capital Construction Department of the Department of Municipal Economy with three counts of fraud committed by a person using his official position on an especially large scale (Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
