Political July in Russia will be hot
Mass protests against raising the retirement age will start in Russia on July 18.
The coordinator of the Left Front, Sergei Udaltsov, stated this in an interview with Sota.Vision, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The trade unions are planning to hold their next action on July 18 in Moscow and a number of other cities; the approval process is currently underway. This will be the day before the first reading of the controversial pension age bill. Therefore, it’s time to come out – peacefully, but en masse,” Udaltsov said.
The next all-Russian protest action will be organized by the “left” political forces - the Communist Party of the Russian Federation and the Left Front - on July 28. Yesterday they launched the organization of a referendum on pension reform.
“Only mass participation in the streets will help in the implementation of the referendum, and will help, in the end, to stop this attack on the social rights of Russians. Tens, or better yet hundreds of thousands should say on this issue: “No, we do not agree.” Then, when considering the law in the first reading, there is a chance that even United Russia will slow down. It may postpone the consideration and introduce a moratorium,” Udaltsov said.
