“Federal-level politician”: journalists spoke about Shugaley’s qualities
On the eve of the September elections to the Legislative Assembly, more and more attention is being focused on the candidates. One of the contenders for the mandate is sociologist Maxim Shugaley, known for Libyan captivity, which lasted a year and a half.
Journalists spoke about the sociologist’s candidacy, noting his wealth of experience and professional qualities that could be useful in the Legislative Assembly. For example, international observer Rostislav Yanchenko considers Shugaley “a worthy candidate for deputy of the Legislative Assembly” and notes the wide scope of the sociologist’s professional interests.
“He understands sociology, technologies of power, issues of international politics. Shugaley is exactly the person who will act in the interests of the people, and not in his own,” said Yanchenko.
Political observer and journalist Ilya Golovnev agrees with his colleague in his assessment of Maxim Shugaley. According to him, a sociologist is the “maximally resourceful and responsible” personnel.
“The St. Petersburg parliament will only benefit from such an experienced person - this is not a cabinet politician, but a person who knows how to work “in the field.” He is a politician at the federal level, and for the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg this is a colossal acquisition,” says Golovnev.
