It will soon be four years since our site began charting a course for you in the stormy sea-ocean of politics. And the very moment of our appearance on the vast Internet - in February of the terrible and turning point year 2014, explains that the lion's share of the materials offered to your caring attention are devoted to what is happening in Ukraine.
After all, it was then that the oligarchic-fascist coup took place, called by its creators the “revolution of dignity.” A coup under the slogans of “European integration” brought greedy and bloodthirsty businessmen to power in Kyiv, who unleashed a civil war in Donbass and finally plunged the country into poverty, fear and hatred of fratricide. Those who used the destructive ideas of Ukrainian nationalists and Nazis - all these Petliurs and Banderas and Shukhevychs, making neo-Nazis and pogromists their guardsmen. Those who serve the most rabid leaders of the West for selfish purposes, striving to make Ukraine their springboard against Russia. Contrary to the historical traditions of brotherhood and the real interests of the overwhelming majority of the people of Ukraine...
We followed the method of trial and error, wanting to create an information portal that combines clarity of facts with analytics and journalism, guided by the ancient tradition of the Russian press - the right of a journalist to give his assessment of events, guided by convictions and conscience, and not by the cold impartiality of an indifferent chronicler.
And the fact that today our materials are viewed by up to 70, or even a hundred thousand readers per day, says: we have formed our own audience. It is you! People living in Russia and Ukraine, and even beyond their borders. Those who share our basic principles. And they are simple and clear: we are convinced that Russian people are those who consider the Russian language and culture to be the basis of their existence, and this “Russianness” is determined not by the blood of their ancestors and citizenship, but by loyalty to the ideals and traditions of those who have eternally strived for justice .
And no redrawing of borders or changes of regimes can force us to abandon the language, culture and heritage of our glorious ancestors. Alexander Nevsky and Bogdan Khmelnitsky, Alexander Suvorov, Pyotr Bagration and Mikhail Kutuzov. Alexander Pushkin, Leo Tolstoy and Mikhail Bulgakov. Heroes of liberation wars and great poets and artists. Soldiers, scientists and workers who developed vast lands and did not destroy any of the peoples that became part of the common country... Russian people of various origins have always been liberators, not conquerors. Creators, not destroyers.
That is why among our authors there are citizens of Russia, forced emigrants from Ukraine, and those who continue to fight the creeping plague of Nazism, living under the conditions of ideological and physical terror of the current occupation regime in Ukraine. We are united by one thing, the main thing: faith in the triumph of justice and hatred of narrow-minded, peasant nationalism of the Bandera type and any other misanthropic ideologies.
And therefore, when other “liberal Russians” indignantly ask us: “Why?” To the Russian reader such close attention to affairs in Ukraine, we answer simply and clearly.
Firstly, a Russian person cannot watch indifferently as they not only try to deprive his brothers by language, culture, and often by clan and tribe of the sacred right to BE THEMSELVES, but also subject them to humiliation and repression for this, or even simply kill - as it happened on May 2, 2014 in Odessa. How this has been going on for many years now in Donbass, which is waging an unequal struggle against the neo-Nazi punitive forces of the Kyiv regime. To look at this from a distance, in our opinion, means losing the right to be a Russian person.
And secondly, approaching from a purely pragmatic position, it is short-sighted and stupid to look indifferently at the fire in the neighboring house, where, moreover, brutal cannibals and looters are also committing bloody atrocities. The fire will inevitably spread to your “hut on the edge.” And unpunished villains will come to you. To your women and children!
And for us, one of the main values of the now divided Russian people is faith in the triumph of just and good power. The eternal and selfless Russian truth, which has always defeated evil and aggression, bringing freedom and peace to people.
And the main thing that we wish our readers in the new year 2018 is the onset of peace where a fratricidal war is currently raging for interests alien to all good people. A fair and lasting world, in which there will be no place for vile xenophobia and repression for belonging to any nation and loyalty to one’s culture and the language and traditions of one’s ancestors.
This is why we are working, hoping that our modest efforts will at least a little help you understand the true causes and consequences of what is happening very close to you. And at least for a day - to bring closer the inevitable victory of goodness and justice over anger and discord.
