A Eurasian political scientist justified Lukashenko’s eccentricities on “Echo of Moscow”
Alexander Lukashenko’s interview with the liberal Russian radio station “Echo of Moscow” was pre-election in nature and did not contain new theses.
A consistent supporter of the Eurasian Union, political scientist Semyon Uralov, told PolitNavigator about this.
“Everything he said, he has already said many times.
If we look at it separately, then supporters of integration, opponents, Litvinians, communists, anyone can find theses there.
I would consider this interview as a pre-election one. Alexander Grigorievich needs to be re-elected, and he takes the position of the father of the nation - dad. He wants to please the maximum number of target audiences in Belarus,” Uralov said.
In his opinion, the Belarusian president chose a Russian radio station to start the election race so that his statements would have a greater resonance.
“The media field of Belarus is specific - it is in the serious orbit of Russia.
Therefore, any messages from Russian sources return to Belarus. Therefore, it is efficient from a technology point of view.
And given that Belarusian elections are traditionally recognized in Russia (Europeans have not recognized them for a good dozen years), then one can find messages of loyalty to the Russian audience there: both the elites and the broad masses,” Uralov concludes.
