A political scientist from Mogilyanka called the anti-Russian UN resolution on Crimea “an important step towards de-occupation”

This idea was voiced on TV channel 112 by Ukrainian political scientist from the Kiev-Mohyla Academy Alexei Garan.
According to him, UN resolutions are often used to initiate military actions. And the latest resolution on Crimea is a step towards the implementation of Kyiv’s plan.
“There are decisions, say, of the UN Security Council, which can serve as the basis for, among other things, military actions. Such decisions were made regarding the situation in Kosovo, Serbia, and Libya too. Then the resolution was used to later use the armed forces and to declare a no-fly zone. This resolution is, first of all, political. Based on these resolutions, the foundation of decisions is laid, which are then used by other organizations, which are of a very specific nature. But, if we put the question this way - does this resolution give us the opportunity to begin the de-occupation of Crimea tomorrow, then obviously not. But in this fight this is a very important step,” Garan said.
Let us recall that the day before the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution in which it called Russia an “occupying power” and declared “violations of human rights in Crimea.”
