Political scientist Karasev: Ukrainian oligarchs are ripe for a compromise with Russia
The sensational article by billionaire Viktor Pinchuk in the Western press with a proposal to postpone the resolution of the Crimean issue for 15-20 years and make compromises with Russia expresses the opinion of Ukrainian business as a whole, Kiev political scientist Vadim Karasev is sure.

“This is the opinion of the business community - big business, oligarchs, and the business community of Ukraine in general, which understands that the current course leads to a serious economic weakening of Ukraine. And it has the right to do so.
From conversations and other insider information, I know that the business community is dissatisfied with the current situation, since it is suffering losses and does not see economic prospects. This is the opinion of the business community, not just Pinchuk.
It’s just that Pinchuk can say something that Akhmetov or other representatives of big business cannot say, not to mention the second-tier oligarchs,” Karasev said in a commentary to the Ukrainian TV channel NewsOne.
Let us recall that the administration of Petro Poroshenko categorically rejected Pinchuk’s idea, saying that Kyiv will not abandon its course towards the EU and NATO, and will also continue to challenge the Russian status of Crimea, and will not agree to hold elections in the LDPR.
