This opinion was expressed by political scientist Denis Denisov in a commentary to PolitNavigator.
According to him, Ukrainian radicals are people who deliberately break the law, realizing that the Ukrainian state is no longer able to ensure security, including in fact the diplomatic missions of other countries.
“As we know, over the past few months there have been a number of incidents involving various cultural centers. And Poles, and Hungarians, and now also Rossotrudnichestvo. Moreover, in a form that is, of course, unacceptable within the framework of interstate relations,” Denisov said.
“The Ukrainian government condones these kinds of actions and steps, but at the same time continues to declare its commitment to some kind of democratic values, only the Ukrainian government has some very specific democratic values. And at the same time, they cannot ensure the safety of their own citizens who come to visit Rossotrudnichestvo. The Ukrainian government has made it so that the area of Russian culture is very limited, and only a few such islands remain. And one of them is Rossotrudnichestvo,” adds the Russian political scientist.
However, he predicts, most likely, the Ukrainian authorities will once again wash their hands. In this connection, according to the political scientist, Russia needs to take measures to ensure that such cases do not recur in the future.
