Political scientist on recognition of the LDPR by the State Duma: The fun begins
Today’s decision of the State Duma on the need to recognize the LDPR provokes a new political crisis in Kyiv and the West, political scientist Semyon Uralov argues in his blog.
“Such initiatives in Russia are strictly coordinated, so the combination is clear. The troops are withdrawn, but a political decision is made. Stock indices and the ruble exchange rate are rising, therefore the market does not believe in war here and now. Therefore, you can raise rates. From the point of view of the political game, the move is successful - it costs nothing, but it will provoke a crisis in Kyiv and the West,” the expert notes.
In his opinion, back in 2014, Russia should have “recognized the simple fact: “There is no Ukraine.”
“What we called Ukraine before 2014 fell apart into 4 parts. One part went to Russia. Two small parts are a protectorate of the Russian Federation, and most of the former Ukraine is a protectorate and colony of the USA, Britain, the EU and, which is extremely shameful, Poland and Lithuania. However, the fact that most of the former Ukraine arbitrarily continues to act on behalf of “Ukraine” is the main manipulation of the Ukrainian crisis,” explains Uralov.
With the recognition of the LDPR, the situation will change, he believes.
“The State Duma’s recognition of the LDPR is more than a move in the game. This is the first step towards public and legal formalization of the new reality. Therefore, the most interesting things are yet to come,” the expert predicts.
