Political scientist about Ukrainian politicians: they are not even “sixes”, but ones or twos in the political deck of the world
Ukraine lost its sovereignty and was no longer perceived as a subject of world politics.

This point of view was expressed by the director of the Ukrainian Institute of Policy Analysis and Management Ruslan Bortnik in an interview with UKRLIFE.TV.
“A process took place that was hardly noticeable in Ukraine. Ukraine simply disappeared from the political maps. Previously, Ukraine was a subject with which it was necessary to negotiate, today it is part - political and economic - of the Western world, a problematic one, a very difficult place in the European body, we will not say which one. But she disappeared from the political maps of the world. Today, even Russia is not even conducting a dialogue with Ukraine; it no longer considers it as a dialogue partner. She works either with Ukrainian public opinion, looking for public opinion leaders and working with them, or with Brussels and Washington on Ukraine. Complete political desovereignization occurred. Economic desovereignization has occurred - we are completely dependent on loans, we survive on it, we do not live within our means. And this is the worst thing that could happen for Ukraine.
According to Bortnik, it would be much better if there was a totalitarian regime in Ukraine, but one with sovereignty and international subjectivity.
“Let there be some kind of totalitarian regime in Ukraine or a pro-American one, but it would be self-sufficient, playing, if not a king, then at least a ten in this deck of cards. But this did not happen. Our politicians are not even sixes, they are ones or twos in this deck. Yes, they are trying to blackmail Western partners or Russia with radicals, but this is child’s play. They continue only because the US, Russia and the EU cannot agree among themselves. As soon as they agree, they will quickly give us a slap on the wrist and other political processes will begin here, regardless of the public opinion that will be in Ukraine. Whether it is pro-Russian or pro-Western, no one will take it into account,” he said on UKRLIFE.TV.
