The political scientist justifies Gref: “Yes, he did almost more for Crimea than others”
Despite the fact that Sberbank has not opened a single branch in Crimea for 7 years, its head German Gref allegedly provided great assistance in the integration of the peninsula into Russia.
Political scientist Dmitry Evstafiev wrote about this in his Telegram channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I can’t stand German Oskarovich Gref. That's how it happened. We don't connect at all. Value-based. But few people have done as much as he did for Crimea, for the plant in Crimea, including foreign money. Almost nobody. I want to tell you this, colleagues, responsibly. Because I know. And stop kicking him. I am not for Gref. I am for justice. And for honesty in assessments,” wrote Evstafiev.
Until now, the largest financial institution of the Russian Federation does not have its own branches on the peninsula, which creates many problems for Crimean residents. At the same time, Sberbank owns the fashionable Mriya Hotel on the southern coast. Gref is not included in US sanctions lists.
Recently, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that he would recognize Crimea only after “the last Russian oligarch” does so.
