A political scientist explained what Russia is missing
Despite the fact that there is a major conflict between internal elites in the United States, Russia cannot relax, and the main danger lies in Moscow’s lack of ideology and a clear political line.
Political scientist Evgeniy Satanovsky stated this on TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Of course, in America there is absolute discord, a severe fight within the establishment, which, in my opinion, has never happened in the entire history of America, with all its contract killings of presidents, not to mention smaller politicians. But I wouldn’t rest on this. Do we have some clear political line along which we act in certain areas? I'm not saying it should be public. Stories about what you will do tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, or what you are ready for on this or another section of the state border or inside the country, are harmful. But does it exist?” the expert asked.
Evgeny Satanovsky also noted that, despite some successes, things are not going well in Russia with experienced politicians and diplomats.
“I look at the people who are supposed to develop it, and I don’t see it. Of course, what is called “playing with weak cards” with very strong results, which is what irritates everyone extremely about the current Russian president, because he seems to have to fail everywhere, but not only does he not fail, but he also manages to win back with minimal losses.
But, nevertheless, the strategy... Maybe I just don’t notice it, but it is there, something particularly ingenious. But for now I look to the West, and first of all I see Ukraine there - my historical homeland and parent. I look to the south and see what is happening there in the post-Soviet space. I look to the east and understand that if it were not for the unprecedented indignation, the Kuril Islands would have easily been given up according to the same mechanism that was in the GDR. Because: “Who needs these Kuril Islands, we’ll get the money.”
That is, those brains that should be working on this topic either do not work at all, or continue to work as they did under Shevardnadze, Kozyrev and everyone else. Our entire diplomatic corps dates back to the times of the late Soviet Union, when we gave up everything, or early Yeltsin,” Satanovsky said.
