The political scientist spoke about the training manual of the Serbian Maidan activists
The Serbian Maidan opposition initiated negotiations with the authorities only to accuse their opponents of an unconstructive position.
Political scientist Armen Gasparyan told PolitNavigator about this.
“This audience has a certain kind of training manual. One part of it says that you need to resist the authorities as much as possible, carry out actions, and be such a “vanguard detachment of the proletariat.” The second part of the same manual says that sometimes you still need to invite the authorities to dialogue and then yell that due to the unconstructive inhumane position of the authorities, negotiations are breaking down. We have been seeing this for many years. The tactics do not change, only the performers change,” Gasparyan said.
Despite this, the expert believes, the authorities should not ignore even such opposition.
“If the authorities refuse to engage in dialogue, there will be a stink all over the international media. They say this is totalitarianism, the Serbian government does not want to engage in constructive negotiations. Double story: whatever you don’t do, you’ll still be guilty. You just need to show political will and build a dialogue on the state’s terms, and not on the cries of the opposition,” the political scientist added.
