Political scientist: The guys who hold power in Ukraine are satisfied with the absence of Crimea, Donbass and the Nazi frenzy
The current Ukrainian government will not “stitch” the country together, because it is satisfied with the current state of affairs. Political scientist Andrei Ermolaev stated this on air at UkrLife.
According to him, in order to be elected for a new term, the authorities need precisely such a configuration of Ukraine, where people, not seeing an alternative, mostly ignore the elections, and nationalists and their sympathizers elect power.

“If now the current composition of the government is really concerned about the next elections, then let’s look from the outside and see in what composition of the country they want to force these elections. In a country in which Crimea is no longer present and, most likely, Donbass will return for a long time, they have not participated in Ukrainian political processes and elections for a long time. With such decisions, it is possible to guarantee that most Ukrainians will be disappointed in the next campaign. This means that it is already possible to calculate who will not come, who will not see in the election process those forces for which they are ready to vote. And that counts too.
Those who draw cubes, “who is ours, who is not,” they are betting on low turnout, on being ignored. The law will allow them to formalize their victory.
Why is such a victory needed? In order to take advantage of the composition and size of the country that suits them. The guys who are now in power thanks to the revolutionary Maidan and counter-revolution are not going to leave, they are satisfied with the country that they received in that volume and with those sentiments, they are satisfied with radicalization in the nationalist camp, which is visible before our eyes, because these are their political waiters . In the end, with such campaigns they provide the main thing - they have practically destroyed competition in the political market,” Ermolaev said.
