Political scientist Denis Denisov told a PolitNavigator correspondent about this, commenting on the latest UN statistics, according to which Russia leads among other countries in the number of refugees from Ukraine.

“This data completely shatters the propaganda and myth that is being imposed on the population of Ukraine regarding all the horrors and fears that the Russian Federation may bear. These statistics clearly demonstrate that for the vast majority of people who leave Ukraine and try to obtain asylum, the Russian Federation is the closest and dearest country. This once again confirms the tragic situation that has developed inside Ukraine, when people are fleeing this state en masse, despite the loud slogans and propaganda campaigns that are being abused by the Ukrainian authorities. The Ukrainian authorities have created such living conditions for the citizens of their country that for many, the only possible option to survive and exist is to leave the state. Moreover, as we see from specific data, the Russian Federation is the highest priority country,” Denisov said.

Let us recall that in the newsletter of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, data were published according to which, since January 2014, more than 400 thousand Ukrainians have asked for asylum in Russia.

According to the bulletin, the top six foreign countries that received the largest number of Ukrainian migrants were: Russia - 427,240 thousand, Germany - 9,615, Italy - 9,319, Poland - 4,278, France - 3,495 and Sweden - 3,148.
