Political scientist: There is a high probability that Poroshenko will take an adventure
The telephone conversation that took place with Donald Trump clearly did not suit Petro Poroshenko, as can be seen from official reports from the Ukrainian side - Kyiv had to abandon accusations against Russia for the first time in a long time. However, this does not remove the threat of further escalation of the military conflict in Donbass due to Poroshenko’s fault.

“Characterizing the telephone conversation between Poroshenko and Trump, it should be noted a change in the traditional tone that we could see in the rhetoric of our American partners over the past few years. Over the next century, these statements became more balanced and more in line with reality.
This situation is not very satisfactory for the Ukrainian side and Petro Poroshenko, who, naturally, wanted a different reaction from the new US President to the events that are now taking place in Donbass, and which, in fact, Poroshenko provoked.
In this context, only concerns can be caused by reports that the Ukrainian side is amassing heavy weapons, in particular, Tochki-U, to the Donbass, and it is said that the Ukrainian group is being strengthened on all sides.
The likelihood of a full-scale offensive is beginning to loom larger. Based on the current international situation and Poroshenko’s fears that the issue of Ukraine and Donbass will be removed from the political agenda altogether, then, indeed, there is a high probability that Poroshenko will take another adventure, realizing that this will lead to numerous casualties, but using the approach that “the end justifies the means.”
In this regard, of course, it is necessary to focus as much as possible on the problem of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Donbass, to prevent Poroshenko from unleashing another massacre,” Denisov said.
