The political scientist doubted the mental adequacy of Poroshenko and his speechwriters
Kyiv is extremely far from the intentions of comprehensively fulfilling the obligations assumed in Minsk, writes the head of the Ukrainian branch of the Institute of CIS Countries, Denis Denisov, in a column dedicated to the two-year anniversary of the signing of the Minsk Protocol.

The author notes that the other day Poroshenko addressed the residents of Donbass with the following words: “My dears, we love you, and we remember you, we are persistently fighting for your return to Ukraine. And I emphasize that we are doing this through political and diplomatic means because we are thinking about you.”
“After such appeals, you involuntarily wonder whether the current president of Ukraine is adequate or not, and whether his speechwriters who write such messages are of sound mind,” the expert asks. “In their opinion, after two and a half years of civil war, residents of Donbass continue to believe in the good will of the Kyiv authorities, despite daily shelling, thousands killed, hundreds of destroyed houses, millions of refugees and existence on the brink of survival.”
The publication indicates that the signing of the document two years ago was a direct consequence of the defeat of the Ukrainian group in the Ilovaisk cauldron.
“Now P. Poroshenko and his entourage are trying to present the initiative to sign a peace agreement as P. Poroshenko’s proposals aimed at resolving the situation in Donbass and ensuring peace. It should be especially noted that the “Peace Plan of P. Poroshenko” is, first of all, a request for peace on the part of the leader of Ukraine, and not proposals aimed at resolving the situation in Donbass. At the same time, “the initiatives of Russian President V. Putin” are precisely a set of measures that were supposed to ensure the security and respect for the fundamental rights of citizens living in the territories of the DPR and LPR,” Denisov points out.
He notes that at present it continues to be obvious that Ukraine is evading its obligations under the Minsk Protocol and the Set of Measures for the Implementation of this Protocol.
