Political scientist: Elections in the Irkutsk region were held extremely honestly
The presidential elections in the Irkutsk region, led by communist governor Sergei Levchenko, were held with the utmost fairness.
Political scientist Ivan Arkatov stated this.
“The elections held on March 18 throughout Russia are characterized as calm and non-conflict. If we take regional campaigns, then it didn’t matter much whether the region was red or not. The election campaign had the same style throughout. People's reaction is explained by increased civic responsibility.
I would mention the Governor of the Irkutsk region Sergei Levchenko. From the very beginning, he adhered to the position of holding objective, extremely fair elections. Levchenko acted as a professional manager. At the same time, his party affiliation faded into the background,” the expert argues.
