Kyiv, May 20 (Navigator, Kirill Boyarin) – An attempt to ban the activities of the Russian Bloc party based on a lawsuit from the Ministry of Justice is an absurd decision that goes beyond common sense.

Ukrainian political scientist Rostislav Ishchenko told Navigator about this.

“Taking into account the fact that the government in Kyiv itself is illegitimate, its actions are also illegitimate. From the point of view of legal norms, the ban on the “Russian Bloc” is an absurd decision, an action completely beyond the bounds of common sense.

First, a political party that is not involved in extremist activities cannot be charged with defending views that are contrary to the political party in power.

Secondly, even if this party had set as its goal the termination of the activities of the state of Ukraine, but in a constitutional way, as, for example, it was during the collapse of the Union, then even then its ban would be illegal,” Ishchenko said.
