Political scientists: US arms deliveries to Ukraine will instantly explode the situation in Donbass
Kyiv, February 14 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Raichenko, Maxim Karpenko) – If NATO weapons go to Ukraine, then Russia will immediately begin open supplies of its weapons to the Donbass.
This opinion was expressed in a conversation with a PolitNavigator correspondent by the director of the Ukrainian Policy Foundation, Kost Bondarenko, answering the question whether NATO weapons could turn the tide of the war in favor of Kyiv.

“NATO weapons are of high quality, but the question is who knows how to wield them and how,” the political scientist noted. “But this is a serious step leading to the most serious consequences, since then Russia will begin to openly supply weapons to Donbass.”
The agency’s correspondent also asked the expert to comment on the foggy story of the closure of four Ukrainian airports, which gave rise to rumors about secret supplies of American weapons to Ukraine.
“We never received any clear explanation from the authorities about why the airports were actually closed,” answered Kost Bondarenko. “And what really happened there - either weapons were unloaded, or there really was a terrorist threat, or something else, we can only guess. But, of course, I would like to know the truth.”
The director of the Ukrainian branch of the Institute of CIS Countries, Denis Denisov, believes that if supplies begin, the Americans will transport old supplies from military warehouses to Ukraine.
“The United States quite often, when they have a lot of old weapons, they either start a new war to get rid of them, or they try to sell these weapons to someone. At the moment, Ukraine does not have the opportunity to buy expensive weapons for cash; therefore, if this is implemented, it could be on credit or other schemes,” says Denis Denisov.
