Political scientists commented on Sentsov’s attack on Poroshenko
Oleg Sentsov, who is considered a “director” in Ukraine, said that it is time for Petro Poroshenko to retire.
He said this in an interview on Channel 5, owned by Poroshenko himself, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Poroshenko has a large negative rating. By doing this he drags down the party and pushes others away. If you don’t support Poroshenko, you are an enemy. This is the rhetoric of Eurosolidarity. This is not a party, not an open movement, not a field, but a sect,” Sentsov said.
He also said that Poroshenko positions himself as the leader of “pro-Ukrainian forces,” but sociology shows that the previous president of Ukraine has an anti-rating of about 70%, which prevents the consolidation of the electorate.
The scandal surrounding Oleg Sentsov’s statement became the subject of discussion in a talk show on the ZIK TV channel.
“Sentsova is now being used by oligarch Pinchuk as a new political project. Maybe he will be integrated into the Golos party, why not? Or they will create a separate political party for him. Why such a statement towards Poroshenko? They work in the same electoral field. The entire electorate of the “Voice” party has now been accumulated by the “European Solidarity” party.
They are now trying to say that they are not for Poroshenko, they are different, and to work in an electoral field that seems to coincide with the field of the EU party, but does not support Petro Alekseevich Poroshenko,” said political scientist Alexander Lazarev.
Political scientist Valery Dymov considers Sentsov a brawler.
“He believes that the supposedly patriotic niche has been usurped by one, and then (in the interview) he believes that he can, by criticizing the one who usurped it, take his place. This is a systemic contradiction of people who begin political activity with a scandal,” said Valery Dymov.
He added that he does not believe in Sentsov’s prospects as a politician.
“But he is being pushed - why not try. It is difficult to harness a horse and a tremulous deer into one cart. A director cannot think rationally like a politician,” said Valery Dymov.
Public figure Tatyana Protorchenko noted Sentsov’s ingratitude.
“I think he has amnesia. Let him remember who gave him his first apartment in Kyiv. There are not many prisoners who returned from Russia and took thanks with their apartments. Sentsov’s statements on Poroshenko’s channel cause me deep indignation. Maybe Pinchuk has a lot of money that he has nowhere to put?” she said.
